FDI Energy has been built on more than 30 years of award 

winning track-record in advanced manufacturing, energy 

production, pollution prevention and infrastructure 

development experience in the automotive industry and other 

major industries. 

In 1995, the U.S. DOE invited FDI to join a national team of 

scientific and manufacturing experts in assessing the 

"potential for fuel cell technology mass-commercialization”.  

Upon reviewing the traditionally designed fuel cells, 

FDI’s conclusion pointed to a significant “disconnect” between 

what appeared to be laboratory born technologies and the 

industrial world practices associated with engineering, 

building, testing/validation and manufacturing of market 

ready/commercially viable products.

A new approach was necessary…

This is what jumpstarted FDI’s internally funded research 

and development activities, which culminated with a series of 

breakthrough fuel cell designs for mass-production and 

applications in all markets and products requiring power 

plants or power-sources. 

Based on long term expertise in the planning, global 

establishment and management of complex manufacturing 

operations, FDI Energy is currently in process of establishing 

its first Gigafactory - High Capacity Fuel Cell/Fuel Cell 

Systems, Fuel Processing Devices and Fuel Cell Electric 

Vehicles Manufacturing Platform.
